OUR HISTORY

Anthony James Miller worked in London for Land Use Consultants, Brian Clouston Partners, and Livingston Eyre and won numerous awards for urban design. He taught Landscape Architecture at both Greenwich & Kingston Universities, London, UK.

Internationally educated Mariane Wheatley-Miller graduated from Kingston University in London with a Bachelor of Arts (First Class Hons) in Landscape Architecture followed by a Post Graduate Diploma. She began working at EDAW (AECOM) in their London office designing parks & tourism master plans in Spain, Saudi Arabia, Manchester, UK and in India. Mariane has won multiply awards and her projects are featured in numerous international books of design.

After re-locating to Syracuse NY from London, Anthony Miller and Mariane Wheatley-Miller started their design firm A. J. Miller Landscape Architecture PLLC (A. J. Miller LA) in Central New York in 2003 .  Anthony Miller is a professor emeritus at the Department of Landscape Architecture at SUNY, Environmental, Science & Forestry with a specialty in site design and ‘History of Landscape Architecture’ which he holds a Masters in Art in History. He was recognized for his teaching with the Foundation Award for Exceptional Achievement in Teaching by the Trustees of SUNY ESF. D

While we do not carry out the construction part of the project ourselves, it has taken us 20 plus years in Syracuse to forge relationships with only the most experienced contractors, nurseries, growers, lighting specialist, fencing and pool companies. We can guide our clients to select the best people to implement their project.
